I’ve lived the athlete life — playing basketball at the state level and earning a Blue Belt in Judo — and now, as a qualified Sport & Exercise Psychologist, I bring that firsthand experience into every session I lead. My passion lies in supporting athletes to thrive holistically — not just in their performance, but in their well-being. I’m committed to making mental skills training accessible across the Indian sports ecosystem and promoting awareness around athlete mental health at every level.
I also serve on the Board of Studies for Psychology at Jai Hind College, my alma mater, where I’ve contributed to shaping the academic direction of future
psychologists for the past two years.
My expertise lies in designing psychological skills programs that enhance athletic performance and support mental health. Key focus areas include:

Managing Performace Anxiety

Competition Preparation

Injury Recovery and Return-to-Sport

Achieving Optimal Arousal and Focus
My approach is multidisciplinary — combining 1:1 sessions with consultations for parents, coaches, and support staff to ensure holistic athlete support.
Over the past six years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of India’s top performers in athletics, boxing, skiing, table tennis, and more. From the Olympics to the Asian Games, I’ve partnered with national teams and individual athletes to build mental strength, sharpen focus, and unlock performance at the highest level. I’ve also contributed to leading platforms like BelievePerform and BaySide Sports. My journey began by supporting Parkinson’s patients using cognitive-behavioural therapy techniques and conducting psychometric assessments for the Junior Indian Cricket Team — experiences that deeply shaped my practice. For me, sport is more than just competition—it’s a mindset. It’s a mirror, a teacher, and a powerful tool for growth. Every session, every athlete, every setback and breakthrough has taught me something new about what it really takes to thrive.
This journey has been about more than helping athletes “cope.” It’s been about changing the conversation:
And now, through this platform, I hope to bring that philosophy to more athletes, coaches, and teams across India. Because it’s time we trained the mind, just like we train the body
Think. Train. Thrive. is Maithili Bhuptani’s groundbreaking guide to unlocking the mental edge in sport. Written for Indian athletes, coaches, and anyone chasing peak performance, the book shows how to train the mind like a muscle—making mental skills as integral as physical training. Packed with practical tools, relatable stories, and performance routines, it breaks the stigma around sport psychology and reframes it as a performance mindset. Whether you’re preparing for your first competition or the world stage, Think. Train. Thrive. gives you clarity to think, courage to train with faith, and purpose to thrive.
• To make mindset training accessible and affordable for athletes and sport
professionals across India.
• Changing how India trains the mind. Because mental skills aren’t just for
problems — they’re for podiums.
To position mental training as a proactive performance enhancement tool — not just a reactive solution.
I’m committed to ethical conduct and the highest standard of integrity, with the athlete’s well-being always at the core.
Think of the mind like a muscle. To be strong under pressure, it needs reps. It needs recovery. It needs strategy. At my Mind Gym, we train the brain the same way athletes train their bodies — with purpose, structure, and science. From visualisation drills to pre-match routines, from managing nerves to sharpening focus, every session is designed to build your mental game. This isn’t therapy in disguise. It’s high-performance training — just for the mind. For too long in India, psychologists were seen as a last resort — someone to call when something goes wrong. But that’s changing. The narrative is shifting from “fixing problems” to “building advantage.” Athletes are now realising that mental skills can be the edge that sets them apart. Working with a sport psychologist doesn’t mean something’s broken — it means you’re serious about growth. It means you’re here to win — not just physically, but mentally.

Build Bulletproof Routines

Bounce back stronger from setbacks

Compete with clarity and calm

Perform under pressure

Train your mind to thrive, not just survive
